Delphi 2009 IDE corrupts project file?
I did a build and maybe an install on a Delphi project that is not a design time project. The units in the project have disappear twice now after building the project. I let Delphi convert the project instead of creating a new project and adding the units. Has anyone else had project corruption problems with Delphi 2009? Larry Griffiths ..
XE File > Open Project IDE Crash
Hi About two weeks ago I moved to Win 8. I have recently been changing the debug and map file settings in the project options, when I now go to File > Open Project the IDE crashes and drops into debug mode. The open folder is displayed and then the crash occurs. I have reset both Release and Debug Project settings to no debug and no map file (as they were previously) but the behaviour still persists. Delphi 6 IDE, Open Project does not sort the file name
Hi, I am using Delphi 6 IDE on Windows XP, when I open the project it does not sort the file names by alphabatic, I Click on 'View Menu-- Detail -- click on Name' . When I go back to open project, it goes back to its normal sorting.. Where do I need to make change, so everytime I open open project it will open in alphabatic order. Opening up a PAS file opens up another instance of Delphi XE IDE.. [Edit]
Here's the problem: When I double click on a .Pas file. a new Delphi XE IDE opens up. Is there a way to open up the file inside of the Delphi XE IDE that is currently open? If I right-click, say TTouches, in the IDE and select [Find Declaration] I am getting an error, 'Unable to locate file FMX.Types.pas'. I see similar errors (for FXM.Xxx and VCL.Xxx units) while debugging. How can I fix this? I am SERIOUSLY hoping that I'm not going to have to manually add a series of directories to search paths, or anything like that. Any help [as always] is much appreciated. Thanks! ..
C++ Builder XE
I found some Delphi code to satisfy a need in my C++ Builder application. I created a Delphi unit to contain the code and added it to my project, made sure that the Delphi compiler option to create all C++ builder files was set, and Project->Build the unit. The compiler reports 'done' with no errors or warnings, but no .hpp file is created that will enable me to use the unit in my C++ units. I have done this before with C++ Builder 2006 and earlier, the only difference is the 'Project->Compile Unit' is what I used and is no longer a menu item in XE. Have I go..

Hello all, Really glad to be back working with Delphi, ( especially with XE and PrismXE which are the very fist versions of either that hasn't error'd out on exit since version 1 ), after a bit more than a year off attending other needs! Our company aquired the software property from another last year. Most of the projects were written in Delphi 2007. We purchased Delphi XE which gave us access to previous versions, including D 2007.. all is well. However, 3 projects were written Delphi 2005 for .Net. The VM we received from this company included D2005 but it was licensed from the previous developer. I've contacted Embarcadero about obtaining a copy and or a license+registration for Delphi 2005 and was told this product is no longer available. Upgrade from Delphi 5 and Delphi XE: Variant and SysUtils unit problems.
Hi. I am a newbie to Delhi XE. I have just taken on the task of converting my stuff from Delphi 5 [sic] to Delphi XE. The first errors I got was 'Variants unit out of data or corrupted' and 'symbol deprecated' in SysUtils I hope I can fix the problem by simply pointing to the 'up-to-date' units. I am also wondering wether I will not have to switch to Unicode, since the errors seem to be string related (not that I know what changing to Unicode entails). Any help?
