Analysis

Now, everything you need to know:

#0 Blue Eyes White Dragon (Azrael)

Dragon

Flying

None

Destructive Burst Stream

Kaiba

Dragon Lair

Beat the mission

Nothing really special here. If teamed with Kaiba, it maxes out at 8 AP and over 5000 ATK. Everyone else gives it 4 AP and at least 4500 ATK. All in all, it’s a good monster. Too bad there’s no Abilities to help it out though.

#1 Blue Eyes White Dragon (Ibris)

Dragon

Flying

#2 Blue Eyes White Dragon (Djibril)

Destructive Burst Stream

Kaiba

Dragon Lair

Beat the mission

Nothing really special here. If teamed with Kaiba, it maxes out at 8 AP and over 5000 ATK. Everyone else gives it 4 AP and at least 4500 ATK. All in all, it’s a good monster. Too bad there’s no Abilities to help it out though.

#3 Seiyaryu

Dragon

Flying

None

Shining Plasma-Never misses

Fusion Force Ray-Attacks all enemies

Kaiba

Dragon Lair

Liberate Hall

Like Blue Eyes, he gets no Abilities. But his attack gets a no miss effect, plus he gets a Special that attacks all enemies!

#4 Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon

Dragon

Flying

Armor; Super Stamina; Status Guard

Ultimate Burst

Ultimate Burst-Attacks all enemies

N/A

N/A

Fuse all 3 Blue Eyes

The most powerful monster in the game (excluding the Gods), it has everything at Level 1. The Armor/Super Stamina/Status Guard combo is wicked when used correctly! Then there’s the massive 6000+ ATK when used by Kaiba. YIKES!!!

#5 Kaiser Dragon

Dragon

Flying

Level 3 Magic

Photon Stampede

Kaiba

Dragon Lair

Liberate Lair

Okay, this guy sucks, badly. His AP maxes out at 4, and his ATK never hits 4000, no matter who he’s teamed with. The only time you want him to be at Level 99 is when you want all your monsters to be at that Level. Don’t bother with him. He doesn’t deserve to be called a Dragon, let alone a Kaiser. EVEN THE LEVEL 3 MAGIC DOESN’T HELP HIM!!!

#6 Blackland Fire Dragon

Dragon

Walk

Night-Adept

Flame Gale

Yugi

War Campaign

Beat the mission

Let’s see. He’s decent at Level 99, and has average AP. His ATK is good at nighttime, and is just as good at any other time of day!

#7 Curse of Dragon

Dragon

Flying

Mountain-Adept

Shadow Flame-Inflict extra damage to Beasts

Yugi

Crucial Battle

Mai starts with it

The only Beast-killer in the game, it’s a good Dragon to use on its own, but even better when paired with Gaia the Fierce Knight. His specialty is Mountains of course, so if you want to use him, have him battle there.

#8 Red Eyes Black Dragon

Dragon

Flying

None

Dark Fireball

Dark Flame Wave-Attacks all enemies

Yugi

Phantom Blast

Beat the mission

Like Kaiser Dragon, he sucks. I don’t care about the Special Attack, because his AP maxes out at 4, meaning you can only use it twice. Your best bet is to stick with Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon, or fusing it with Summoned Skull or Meteor Dragon.

#9 Black Skull Dragon

Dragon

Flying

Night-Adept/Super Stamina

Meteor Flare-Slow down the enemy and reduce its AP (30% chance)

N/A

N/A

Fuse Red Eyes and Summoned Skull

You woulda thought that a guy that powerful would have a good effect for an attack and better Abilities. But Black Skull Dragon isn’t that good. He can prevent an enemy from attack a few times by lowering its AP but that’s just it. The Night-Adept doesn’t really fall in place here, because you most likely won’t battle at night unless the mission starts out that way.

#10 Serpent Night Dragon

Dragon

Flying

Wasteland-Adept; Road-Adept; Super Stamina

Shatter-Slow down the enemy and reduce its AP (30% chance)

Joey

Raid

Mountains west of Twin-Rivers

Who woulda thought that a Dragon this weak at Level 1 would be powerful at Level 99? I didn’t. Anyways, his AP maxes out at 7 and his ATK maxes out at over 5000. The Field Abilities are very slim to being useful, since Roads are hard to come by and Wastelands are hard to tell what they are.

#11 Meteor Black Dragon

Dragon

Flying

Mountain-Adept; Super Stamina; Armor

Supernova Blaze-Never misses

N/A

N/A

Fuse Red Eyes and Meteor Dragon

Well, his ATK is good, his AP is good, his attack’s effect is good, and his Abilities are good. Anything I leave out?

#12 Crawling Dragon

Dragon

Walk

Mountain-Adept

Flame Blast

Kaiba

Hand of Fire

Kaiba starts with it

He’s decent, to a point. His ATK isn’t that godly, but his AP is. Maxing out at 8, this Dragon is pretty good.

#13 Meteor Dragon

Dragon

Flying

None

Flame Meteor

Kaiba

Dragon Lair

Liberate Den

Another worthless Dragon. Just stick with fusing it with Red Eyes.

#14 Baby Dragon

Dragon

Flying

None

Fire Breath

Yugi

Refugees

Mountains southwest of Beyzon; Only Joey can find it

Ok, I can understand why this Dragon sucks, but at least give it an Ability!!! I guess it’s only use is to fuse with Time Wizard.

#15 Winged Dragon; Guardian of the Fortress #1

Dragon

Flying

None

Fireball

Yugi

Strategy

Mountains north of Dyethruo; Only Yugi can find it

Ok, I’m sick of seeing these wastes of Dragons. It should have Castle-Adept an Mountain-Adept, but Konami failed to do that.

#16 Gaia the Dragon Champion

Dragon

Flying

Mountain-Adept; Lucky

Gale Force Charge-Never misses

N/A

N/A

Fuse Curse of Dragon and Gaia the Fierce Knight

Well, another good monster. Too bad it’s a fusion. The Lucky Ability is a nice touch though.

#17 Thousand Dragon

Dragon

Walk

Mountain-Adept

Thousand Point Breath

Thousand Point Breath-Attacks all enemies

N/A

N/A

Fuse Baby Dragon and Time Wizard

This guy’s AP may max out at 10, but he still sucks. His ATK is very ungodly. Not to mention you need two worthless monsters to use it.

#18 Parrot Dragon

Dragon

Flying

Mountain-Adept

Hot Tunes

Kaiba

Framed

Pegasus starts with it

Well, this Dragon is godly. His ATK maxes out at 5300, but it’s a shame he doesn’t have an effect for his attack.

#19 Harpie’s Pet Dragon

Dragon

Walk

Mountain-Adept

Giga Saint Fire

Yugi

Crucial Battle

Mai starts with it

The godliest of all Dragons (excluding BEUD). His ATK is very high, as is his AP. He’s got a great Ability, and his speed is great.

#20 Two Headed King Rex

Dragon

Walk

Wasteland-Adept; Super Stamina

Dino Flame

Kaiba

Lord of the Plains

Rex starts with it

His AP isn’t that great, nor is his ATK. Skip him.

#21 Megazolwer

Dragon

Walk

Wasteland-Adept; Super Stamina

Dino Impact

Kaiba

Lord of the Plains

Rex starts with it

Unlike the King Rex, his AP is godly, as is his ATK. Use him.

#22 Uraby

Dragon

Walk

Wasteland-Adept; Field-Adept; Super Stamina

Wild Bite

Kaiba

Lord of the Plains

Rex starts with it

This guy is in between the King Rex and Megazolwer, AP and ATK wise.

#23 Kairyu-Shin

Dragon

Swim

Water-Adept; Swift

Aqua Breath

Tidal Wave-Attacks all enemies

Yugi

Turbulent Waters

Mako starts with it

Hell no. Don’t use him. His ATK is the same as Kaiser Dragon.

#24 Aqua Dragon

Dragon

Swim

Water-Adept; Super Stamina

Aqua Breath

Yugi

Scorched

On the east coast, north of Tsughut

I guess he’s good. Slow, but good in battle. He’s a good replacement for Kairyu-Shin.

#25 Sea King Dragon

Dragon

Swim

Water-Adept; Super Stamina

Aqua Breath

Kaiba

Full-Scale Offensive

West coast of Thor-Mount, then go north

His ATK is godly, his AP is godly, but DON’T put him in lead position, even if teamed with Mako/Malaikura. He’s slow and forever will be.

#26 Spike Seadra

Dragon

Swim

Water-Adept; Swift

Spike Shoot

Battery Blast-Attacks all enemies

Kaiba

Full-Scale Offensive

West coast of Thor-Mount, then go north

He’s a good Dragon to use in the water, but he’s not all that great stat wise.

#27 Thunder Dragon

Dragon

Flying

Level 2 Magic

Shock Blast-Inflict extra damage to Machines

Kaiba

Dragon Lair

Liberate Nest

For a Flying monster, he’s pretty slow. His HP isn’t the best, but his ATK is godly. You should most likely stick with using him for Twin Headed Thunder Dragon.

#28 Twin Headed Thunder Dragon

Dragon

Walk

Lucky; Super Stamina

Thunder Flare Discharge-Inflict extra damage to Machines

Charge-Increase own ATK by 1000

N/A

N/A

Fuse Two Headed King Rex and Thunder Dragon

Godly, just godly. He’s got massive ATK and massive AP. His ATK becomes more massive with his Special Attack, and his Machine-killing effect makes him an excellent choice for going up against the Mission: Dream World.

#29 Mystical Elf

Spellcaster

Walk

Status Guard; Level 3 Magic; Aerial

Crystal Shards-Inflict extra damage to Darklands

Fanaticism-Increase team’s ATK by 1000

Joey

Reversal

Tea starts with it

Out of the Dragons and into the Spellcasters. Typically, she sucks, all because of her Level 1 Attack Stat. Anyways, her Special comes in handy when you need a boost.

#30 Time Wizard

Spellcaster

Walk

Level 3 Magic

Time Magic-Paralyze the enemy

Haste Spell-Speed team up and increase AP

Yugi

Spellcaster

Liberate Researcher Guild

Now, I don’t really understand the 'speed up/slow down' effect, but adding 1 AP to all monsters on your team is pretty good. Then there’s the Paralysis effect. When you get him, he already has it. The only ungodly thing about this guy is his Attack and Defense.

#31 Rogue Doll

Spellcaster

Walk

None

Glaring Chaos-Inflict extra damage to Darklands

Joey

Reversal

Tea starts with it

This thing sucks, royally. Its Attack never reaches 4500, and having a useless effect and no Abilities makes this thing awful. BTW, all 'inflict extra damage' effects mean +100 damage. How useful is that?

#32 Magician of Faith

Spellcaster

Walk

Level 5 Magic

Rainbow Blast-Inflict extra damage to Darklands

Resurruction-Revive all dead teammates to half their health

Kaiba

Guidance

Ishizu starts with it

Well, she has that 'inflict extra damage' effect, and her Attack isn’t that godly anyways. Her true strength lies in her Ability and Special, which REALLY comes in handy.

#33 Dark Magician

Spellcaster

Walk

Night-Adept; Level 5 Magic; Magic Craft

Dark Magic

Dark Burning Magic-COMBO ATTACK!!!: With Dark Magician Girl, attack all enemies for over 1000 damage

Yugi

Badlands

Beat the mission

Well, we can tell he has a lot of potential. Night-Adept, Level 5 Magic AND Magic Craft, plus the Special that he learns at Level 40! He’s awesome!!!

#34 Dark Magician Girl

Spellcaster

Walk

Night-Adept; Level 4 Magic; Magic Craft

Murky Burning

Yugi

Counterattack

Very unclear on how she joins, but some say it has to do with liberating the two side bases. I found her in between the two bases in the forest.

Now, I don’t get why she doesn’t have Dark Burning Magic because she’s faster that Dark Magician, MoBC, and Dark Magician #2, so she’d waste an AP before the Special goes off. Oh well. I guess you can’t have EVERY good thing on 1 team.

#35 Magician of Black Chaos

Spellcaster

Walk

Level 5 Magic; Magic Craft; Status Guard

Ultimate Silence- Inflict extra damage to Spirits

Dark Burning Magic-COMBO ATTACK!!!: With Dark Magician Girl, attack all enemies for over 1000 damage

N/A

N/A

Use Black Luster Ritual on Dark Magician

Basically the same as Dark Magician, except he trades Night-Adept for Status Guard.

#36 Saggi the Dark Clown

Spellcaster

Walk

Night-Adept; Level 2 Magic; Magic Craft

Shadow Swoop

Kaiba

Hand of Fire

Kaiba starts with it

Now, I don’t know why, but this guy goes from weak to powerful. His Attack maxes out at 5000, and his AP maxes out at 10. I hate him though, because of how the opponent always has two of this guy equipped with Germ Infection, and IFM with Raimei and Final Flame.

#37 Illusionist Faceless Mage

Spellcaster

Walk

Night-Adept; Level 4 Magic

Perplex Hex-Paralyze the enemy

Eye of Bewilderment-Paralyze 1 enemy

Joey

Raid

Jussell starts with it

His Attack and AP isn’t that godly, so he sucks. Stay away from him.

#38 Skull Knight

Spellcaster

Walk

Level 5 Magic

Reaper Blast-Never misses

Lightning Break-Attacks all enemies

Joey

Invincible Imperial Guard

North of Ru-Ma-Pann

This guy kicks ass!!! His Attack AND AP are super-godly. His Ability is awesome, and his movesets are perfect.

#39 Cosmo Queen

Spellcaster

Walk

Super Stamina; Status Guard

Shadow Master

N/A

N/A

Fuse Mystical Elf and Dark Elf

You would think that a powerful Fusion would have better Abilities and effects for its attacks. Well, at least her Attack and AP are godly.

#40 Dark Elf

Spellcaster

Walk

Night-Adept; Level 3 Magic

Magic Cannon

Word of Spirit Stealing-Decrease 1 enemy’s ATK by 500

Yugi

Spellcaster

Beat the mission

Ugh! She has the worst Special I’ve ever seen. Not to mention her counterpart has better Abilities!!!

#41 Lord of D.

Spellcaster

Walk

Level 5 Magic

Dragonsoul Summons-Never misses

Kaiba

Dragon Lair

Beat the mission

He only shines in his Ability and his effect. If you want to, use him. Otherwise, skip him.

#42 Invitation to a Dark Sleep

Spellcaster

Walk

Night-Adept; Level 1 Magic

Sleep Wave-Paralyze the enemy

Word of Hypnosis-Paralyze all enemies

Joey

Raid

Mountains west of Twin-Rivers

No need for Level 1 Magic when you can Paralyze all enemies at once!!! He’s awesome, no doubt about it.

#43 The Illusory Gentleman

Spellcaster

Walk

Night-Adept; Level 3 Magic

Spectral Mist-Blind the enemy

Ice Storm-Attack all enemies and decrease their ATK by 1000

Yugi

Badlands

Mountains west of Researcher Guild

This guy is awesome. His Special is good, his effect is good, his Abilities are good, and his Attack and AP are godly.

#44 Tao the Chanter

Spellcaster

Walk

Level 3 Magic; Magic Craft

Ultimate Unity-Slow down the enemy and reduce its AP (30% chance)

Forbidden Elements Spell-Slow down all enemies and reduce their AP

Joey

Raid

Jussell starts with it

Ugh!!! Another worthless Spellcaster. Honestly! Why does Konami waste good graphics (and pieces of cardboard for another matter) on monsters that nobody will use?

#45 Aqua Madoor

Spellcaster

Walk

Level 3 Magic

Aqua Pressure

Tidal Wave-Attacks all enemies

Joey

Reversal

Tea starts with it

His Attack never hits 4000, and his AP is too small to benefit from his Special. Skip him.

#46 Water Girl

Spellcaster

Walk

Level 2 Magic

Water Tornado

Kaiba

Hand of Fire

Marthis starts with it

Her Attack and AP is godly at Level 99. And to think that you couldn’t get beat up by a chick?

#47 Dragon Piper

Spellcaster

Walk

Level 2 Magic

Witch Probe-Paralyze the enemy

Check Release-Paralyze, Blind, Poison, and Confuse are rid from all monsters (even enemies)

Yugi

Secret Power

South of Jennova; If Labyrinth Tank is found, between Phyo-Rente and Myilluno

The weakest monster in the game, both at Level 1 and 99. His Special is useless, it’ll help the opponent too, if you Blinded/Paralyzed them beforehand. I think his Special affects Super Stamina, but I’m not sure. I’ll have to research it.

#48 Gemini Elf (Kachua)

For a Warrior, he’s pretty good. His Special helps against Missions that have a Darklands focus.

#52 Black Luster Soldier

Warrior

Walk

Road-Adept; Castle-Adept; Field-Adept

Chaos Blade

N/A

N/A

Use Black Luster Ritual on Gaia the Fierce Knight

The most powerful Warrior in the game, he better be godly. His Attack and AP is superb, while the graphics for his attack is sick (in the good way, of course).

#53 Swordstalker

Warrior

Walk

Night-Adept; Castle-Adept; Road-Adept

Dark Slash of Resentment

Malice Pass-Increase own ATK by 1000

Joey

Raid

His AP most definitely benefits from his Special, meaning you could get 2-3 in and still hack away at least 3 times.

#54 Flame Swordsman

Warrior

Walk

Field-Adept; Castle-Adept; Road-Adept

Flaming War Sword

Salamandra-Attacks all enemies

Yugi

Crucial Battle

#58 Gaia the Fierce Knight

Warrior

Walk

Field-Adept; Road-Adept

Spiral Shaver

Yugi

Yugi

War Campaign

Yugi starts with him
